SAULT STE. MARIE, MI - Illustrator Dar Bagby of Brimley, her sister, author Janet Beasley of Florida, and freelance graphic designer Connie Thompson of Barbeau, will give a presentation at Bayliss Library [in Sault Michigan] on Thursday, August 30, at 6:30 p.m.

They will speak about their recently published books in the Hidden Earth series.

This six-novel series and its companion books got off the ground with the release of Volume 1, Maycly this past February.

The books, classified as Christian Fantasy (a fairly new genre), are aimed at young audiences starting with 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, although adults also report being captivated by the stories.

In addition, Dar, Janet, and Connie have published two companion books to accompany Maycly.

One contains the full-color, full-sized illustrations Dar created, and the other is a cookbook that features menus, histories, photos, and recipes from five restaurants on the planet of Maycly.

All of the recipes can be prepared and eaten right here on Earth!

In fact, some of the evening's refreshments will be made using recipes found in the Bakery section of the cookbook.

Beverages will be furnished by Friends of the Library.

Dar has a degree in vocal performance from Wright State University.

She worked as a veterinary assistant for 12 years and as a medical transcriptionist and English language specialist for 15 years.

Now she has entered the field of literary illustrating.

Janet, author and nature photographer, is the creative force behind JLB Creatives, a division of Multi-Tech Productions, Inc., which is owned and operated by she and her husband.

Connie has spent 27 years doing freelance graphic design, including newsletters, brochures, newspapers, and advertising.

For the past decade, she has turned her talents toward book pagination and layout.

Last year, she wrote her first book, A Fascination for Feathers.

Together, the three have combined their talents, working via telephone, email, and Internet to create the books they will present on August 30.

All three books will be available for sale (cash or check only, please) and signing.
