Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the age of 97. Nicholas is now reunited with his dear wife Irene (Valade, Masse). Loving step-father of Rose- Marie Valade, Nicole McLarty (Barry), Marcel Valade (Fran), and Madeleine Jobb (Kevin). Cherished Grandfather of Natalie and Emélie Rahilly, Laura McLarty (Ryan), Anthony Valade, and Samantha and Jonathon Jobb. Great Grandfather of Cameron Pearse. Predeceased by his parents Mary Poma and George Shami, and sibliings Michael, Peter (Nellie), Sister St. Paul “Vicky”, Fred (Rollie), Paul (Monica), Sophie Pirano (Peter) and Andrew (Dorothy). Brother-in-law of Joan (late Leo Masse). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and special friends. Friends and family may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gerard Majella Church on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ignatius Xavier officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
