MILLER, Edith Evelyn

Edith Evelyn Miller passed away peacefully in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday May 26th, 2015, one week after her 102nd birthday. 
 
Edith was born in Fort William on May 15th, 1913 to the late Mary and Tom Bell. After her marriage to Wilfred Miller, Edith spent her married life living in both Schreiber and Geraldton, where Wilfred worked in Chapples branch stores. For many years she had worked as the secretary of the Geraldton High School and taught typing in the Commercial Department.  She was always active in her community, volunteering at the hospital & her church. She was member of the Eastern Star and spent much of her spare time participating in her favourite pass time "bridge".
 
Edith will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Sandra (Tim) Randa of Sault Ste. Marie, her daughter-in-law Pat, her grandchildren Tim (Carol) Randa Jr. of Mississauga and Craig (Elaine) Randa of Sault Ste. Marie, her great grandchildren; Tyler, Megan, Destiny and DJ.  She will also be dearly missed by her loyal friend Ruth.
 
She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred (1981), her son Bruce (2000), her parents and her only sibling Margaret Johnson.
 
The family would to thank Dr. Chris Allison for providing Edith with superb health care and a huge thank you to all the great staff at St. Joseph's Heritage.
 
A Memorial Service for Edith will be held on Saturday May 30th, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the HARBOURVIEW FUNERAL CENTRE, 499 North Cumberland Street Thunder Bay, ON. Family and friends may gather in the Chapel up to one hour prior to service time. If anyone so desires, in lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to either St. Joseph's Heritage or Edith's favourite charity the Salvation Army.
