It is with very heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Joe after a courageous battle with cancer. Joe passed away on May 21, 2015 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) with his loving family and friends by his side. Loving and dedicated husband to Lanie and father to Andrew and Shae Collins. Joe was the eldest and devoted son of Orlando and Isabella Cerasuolo. Son-in-law of Reggie Daigle. Dear brother and best friend to Carmine (Sherri) and John (Kelly). Joe will be forever watching over his nephew and godson Josh, nieces Jullian and Jaden and nephews Sam, Chase and Chance. Loved by many uncles, aunts and cousins in both Canada and Italy. Very special cousin and friend to Dolores and Joe Proietti.
Joe will be greatly missed by his buddies at the Diesel Shop at Essar Steel, the old ALPINE gang from Sir James Dunn, and all his golfing and baseball buddies. Joe was a fixture at local hockey rinks - ‘Everyone should have an Uncle Joe’ was a frequently heard phrase from many hockey parents. Joe loved to travel, go to concerts and sporting events and took endless pride in his family, home and garden.
A very special thank you to all the staff and volunteers from ARCH for their dedication, love, care and compassion. Joe’s final days were spent in a beautiful, peaceful, and loving environment surrounding by family and friends.
Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road (705) 945-7758) at 10 o’clock on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 until the time of service in the Chapel at 2 o’clock. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum. Donations to ARCH are greatly appreciated in Joe’s memory.
