BUTT, Michael John 'Mike'

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mike at the age of 53 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Thursday, March 19, 2015. Mike was surrounded by his small but tight knit loving family. Son of the late Michael Butt Sr, and Eileen (Stares) Doyle (Larry).  Cherished Big Brother of Terri Vaillancourt (Paul).  Loving husband of Mae Butt.  Adored Father of Jennifer Cottrell. Grandfather of Joseph, Mandy and Kayla, and Uncle of Tim Walker.  Mike was predeceased by his Best Friend and Soul mate, Verna Moore. Mike will leave behind stepchildren, step siblings and cousins. Mike will be fondly remembered by his Community Mental Health workers, Bill MacPherson, Brian Turner and Mike will be especially missed by his true dear friends Lisa Alford, Dan Palanuk (Kim), Miles Zacharie, Paul Curtis, Sandra Schreiber and Rob Johnson. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm.   Funeral Service in the chapel at 1 pm.  Mr. Gene Monin officiating.  Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to ARCH would be greatly appreciated. No words can express the family’s gratitude for the care Michael received by ADCP at Sault Area Hospital, 3C but especially the End of Life quality care he received from ARCH during his final 2 weeks of his life. A very special Thank You to Dr. Mary Wilson for her superior care provided to Michael, as well as her on-going comfort to Michael’s immediate family during Michael’s sudden and short battle with cancer.
