Passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on December 8, 2014 at the age of 88. Beloved and devoted husband of Marie (nee Yacoback) for 63 years. Cherished father of Wendy Kates (Paul) and Catherine Rosso (Jim). Loving grandfather of Adam Kates (Amanda), Amy Reid (Terry), Amanda Jheeta (Vik) and Sarah Rosso. Predeceased by his sister, Kathleen James and his brother, Eldon. A highly respected gentleman, Bert will be missed by his nieces and nephews, former colleagues and many friends. A private family service was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 with Rev. Phil Miller officiating. A celebration of Bert’s life will be held for family and friends at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday December 22, 2014 from 11 am until 12:30 pm followed by a time of remembrance until 1 pm.
