The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Marcel “Grandpabear” Maggini certainly touched the hearts of many.
 
On the crisp snowy morning of November 26th 2014, Marcel, in his 85th year, decided to leave a legacy behind him and move onto his next big adventure.
 
Marcel is the loving husband of his Assunta “Susie” Maggini of 54 years.
 
Beloved father of his three girls, Diana, Mary and Darlene. Adored father-in-law to his two sons Henry and John.
 
Cherished Grandpabear of Vanessa, Alysia (Ryan), Justin (Carmen), Deseree (Connor), McKenna, Morgan and Madison.
 
Great Grandpabear to his newest little love – Lily Catherine.
 
Marcel will be joining his Tuscan family as son of the late Guido and Maria.
 
Loving brother of Aldo “Decimo” (Maureen), Ines (Aldo), Irma (Umberto), Oliviero (Anna), Angiolo (Alfonsina), Ersilia (Donatino) and Elena (Paolo).
 
Brother-in-law of Maria (Carluccio), Anita (Tony), Teresa (the late Vince), Francis (Jim).
 
Marcel is admired and loved by many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada as well as his pal Massimo.
 
A very warm thank-you to the kind hearts of the Ontario Finnish Resthome, and especially to Marcel’s tablemates, for your constant support and friendship.
 
Marcel’s gentle nature, strong spirit and simple kindness will be forever in the hearts of his loved ones.
 
We will never forget the beauty and grace with which you lived your life and with your advice in our hearts – we will “carry on”.
 
In a celebration of Marcel’s life, friends and family may call at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m.  Memorial donations to Ontario Finnish Resthome New Building Fund, Group Health Centre or SAH Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  www.northwoodfuneral.com
