McLEAN, Alexander B.

From St. Joseph Island, passed peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born in Pittsburg, PA to John and Elizabeth McLean. Alex served in the U.S. Navy during WWII (1942-1946), was a member of the American Legion Post 113, and was also a life member of the Masonic Order. After 47 years, he retired from the family marine business on Brock St. He started life as an only child, but happily, his life was filled with family, friends and oh yes, did we mention golf? He will meet his sons John (65) and Jamie (18 month). Alex will be greatly missed by his cherished wife Barbara of 66 years, his sons Rod (Dorothy), Billy (Maureen), daughters Melinda (Rick) and Marjory (Rene). His 24 grand and great grandchildren deeply respected and admired him. A private family gathering will be held. He will be buried at Greenwood Cemetery.
