FILICE, Ida (Florio)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ida Filice.  Born March 16, 1930 (Aiello Calabria, Italy) passed away November 23, 2014 at the Sault Area Hospital.  Beloved wife of 58 years and best friend of Settimio Filice.  Loving mother of Eugene Filice (Kathy), Anna Pine (late Reg), John Filice and Josie Pateman (Jim).  Cherished and proud Nana of Katie Pateman.  Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jennifer McKay (Stuart) and Rob Coleman (Sasha) and great grandchildren late Sadie and Charlie McKay.  Daughter of the late Carlo and late Anna Florio.  Dear sister of the late Francesco Florio (late Ida), late Vittorio Florio, Pietro Florio (Ida), Mario Florio, Guglielmo Florio (Maria), late Settimio Florio (Louisa) and Concetta Mammone (Giovanni).  Daughter-in-law of the late Geniale and late Anna Filice.  Loved sister-in-law of late Maria Russo (late Geniale), late Rosario, late Rosa Cuglietta (late Adolfo), late Rosario (late Iolanda), late Giovanni, Antonia Crisanti (late Carlo), Francesca Marrelli (late Guglielmo) and Gennaro (Giulia).  Ida will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews both near and far.  Friends and family are invited to call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Veronica’s Parish on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.  Memorial donations to the SAH Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Many thanks to all the wonderful nurses and staff of Sault Area Hospital 3C who have treated our mother and family with the utmost care and compassion during the past several months.  A heartfelt thanks to Drs. Bowen, Schamp and Lee for their care and concern during this difficult time and to Dr. Ianni for his many years of professionalism and respect.  Special thanks to the Red Cross PSW’s, especially Patti Muncaster for the many years of in home care and friendship provided to our mother.  www.northwoodfuneral.com
