It is with profound sorrow that the family announce the sudden passing of Gary on September 27, 2014 at the Health Sciences North in Sudbury. Loving husband of Margaret McLeod (nee Menard) of Blind River and father of Gary David McLeod, Edwin McLeod (Dr. Karen Smail) and Lydia Roy (Daniel “Danny”). Dear Pappa to Amanda (friend Matthieu Laurence) and Thomas Roy, Jacob, Emily, Hailey, Abey, Kristen and Lily McLeod. Pre-deceased by his parents Lloyd “Boxer” and Jessie McLeod and his parents in law John and Kathleen “ Kaye” Menard, his infectious laugh and quick wit will be missed by his in laws the Menard’s, Phillips, Utter’s, Nadon’s , Hall’s, nephews, nieces. His passion for all things sports is what gave him immense enjoyment especially after he retired from McDougall Fuels, but could always be counted on when needed and for this he will be affectionately remembered by all who came to know him. Friends will be received at the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River on Wednesday October 1, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2 at 11:00 am from St. James The Greater Parish with Sr. Bernadette officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Blind River.
