BRZEZINSKI, Ryszard (Richard)

Posted

In his 88th year with his family by his side at the Oshawa General Hospital, Ryszard passed away peacefully on Thursday August 28th, 2014.  Ryszard lost the love of his life when Bronislawa (Julie) passed away in 2010 after 60 years of marriage.  His only son Robert was killed in an industrial accident at Algoma Steel in 2004.  He is survived by his loving daughter, Wanda Griffin (Doug) of Courtice and cherished granddaughters Nicole (Chris Tefoglou) and Ally Griffin and Paula Brzezinski.  Ryszard was brother-in-law to the late Ivan and Stella Whittaker, Tom and Mary Tos, Joe and Irene Tos and Stan Tos.  Beloved “Vivi” to many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and their many friends.  Ryszard was a veteran of World War II as a member of the British forces stationed in Italy.  He was an active member of the Polish community and instrumental in the building of what was St. Andrew Bobola Church, now Holy Family.  He was a man before his time-- changing diapers, spending time with his children and grandchildren and helping with housework.
