FLEURY, Denis Henri

It is with deepest sorrow that the family announces the passing of Denis on November 28, 2015, at the age of 74, surrounded by his loving family at the Sault Area Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his beloved wife Linda (nee Ethier) of 52 years.  Cherished father of Sandra McLeod (Rob), Patricia Michaud (Jim), Denise Fleury, Brenda Caruso (John) and very special brother to Dan Ethier (Marilyn).  Loving and devoted Papa to Nolan (Sian), Kaila (Nick), Mariah (Malcolm), James, Riley, Maddison, Bradley and Gregory and great Papa to Oliver.  Pre-deceased by his parents Desire and Alma, and brother Dave.  Brother to Lily, Edsel, Donald, Alfie, Germaine, Jerry, and Lise. He was a special Uncle to many nieces and nephews. His grandchildren were his pride and joy!  He will be deeply missed by his canine companion Diesel. Denis worked as a well-respected heavy diesel mechanic and Foreman at Algoma Contractors and retired from Algoma Steel in 1997. We would like to thank CCAC, Bayshore and WeCare for the homecare support they provided. A very special thank you to Dr. Walde, Dr. Hill, Dr. Spadafora and Dr. Patterson for their care throughout the years and to Dr. Buehner and Dr. Booth as well as the staff on 3B at the Sault Area Hospital for their compassion and dedication to making his final hours peaceful and comfortable. A private family service will be held at Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522).  In lieu of flowers, Denis and his family would greatly appreciate donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation in honour of Denis and Linda Fleury.
