A 27-year-old has been charged with impaired driving after allegedly speeding through a stop sign early Sunday morning.
"Around 1:25 a.m., officers patrolling Gibbs Street saw a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed," says a news release issued today by Sault Police. "They followed the vehicle and saw it drive through an intersection with a stop sign without stopping."
A traffic stop was initiated on River Road, where police say the driver provided multiple breath samples that all registered over the legal limit.
Danni Gibbs is charged with:
- Operation while impaired – drug and/or alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80+
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on April 22.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Gibbs is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
