Emergency crews contained a garage fire earlier this afternoon at a home in the 1200 block of Peoples Road, near the corner of Tallack Boulevard.
There were no visible flames or smoke by the time SooToday arrived at the scene, but there was significant damage to the inside and outside of the dwelling's attached garage.
While the cause of the fire is not official, family members said they believe a propane tank exploded in the garage, which resulted in high flames and heavy smoke.
The incident happened at around 4 p.m., witnesses said.
Fire crews remain on scene and are airing out the home while police have traffic blocked southbound on Peoples Road.
Family members said there were no injuries.
