Significant damage has been reported following a fire yesterday afternoon in the 1200 block of Peoples Road.
Fire crews responded at around 4 p.m. to find smoke and flames coming from an attached garage.
Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the blaze.
"After further investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be hot tools in close proximity to combustible materials," says a release issued by Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services.
Smoke alarms inside the home alerted the homeowner to the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
