VIDEO: Spring has Sprung contest winners celebrate the season

In a news release issued earlier this week, the City of Sault Ste. Marie announced the winners of the ‘Spring has Sprung’ decorating contest.

SooToday hit the streets with video camera in hand to seek out some of the winning entries.

The winners are as follows:

• Mayor’s Award - Vance and West Families (decorated portions of the John Rowswell Hub Trail)
• Ward One - Niko Aquino-Soriano (94 Harten St.)
• Ward Two - Jesso-Daynes family (476 Wellington St. E.)
• Ward Three - Áine O’Callaghan (149 Tilley Rd.)
• Ward Four - Abbie Beauchamp (1336 Peoples Rd.)
• Ward Five - Sylvia’s Home Daycare (902 Town Line Rd.)

The competition encouraged area families to decorate their windows and yards to celebrate the season.

The winners were awarded gift cards from a local garden centre.
