VIDEO: 'It's never too late'

New Horizons Adult Band gives retired adults a chance to pursue their love of music

The New Horizons Adult Band, which meets every Monday at the Algoma Conservatory of Music, offers retirees a chance to join a brass and woodwind band.

The band is a joy for coordinator Ed Dickey and the band members, some of whom have only recently picked up an instrument and learned to play in their senior years.

Dickey told SooToday interest in the band is keen, and there are hopes the New Horizons Adult Band will be able to meet for a second round of weekly sessions every Tuesday. Dickey is also interested in starting up a percussion class.

Anyone wanting more information may call the Conservatory at 705-253 4373 or visit their website.
