VIDEO: Firearms stolen in Aweres Township break in

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in a break, enter and theft of firearms.

Between Oct. 6, 2019 and Oct. 18, 2019 unknown suspects attended a seasonal residence located on Lower Island Lake Road, Aweres Township, Ont.

The suspects then gained entry to the home through a rear window.  

Once inside, the suspect located a steel gun locker.  The locker was pried open and several firearms were taken. 

Six firearms were removed from the safe which include the following.

• A 303 Lee-Enfield Sporter bolt action rifle
• A Baikal 12 gauge shot gun
• A Stevens 410 shot gun
• A .22 caliber Mossberg rifle
• Two older model .22 caliber rifles

The suspects fled in an unknown direction.
