VIDEO: Batchawana Post Office break-in remains under investigation

Items stolen include stamps, printer, dog bed, portable DVD player, a label machine and many others

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of a break enter and theft.  

Sometime between the evening of April 23 and the morning of April 24, 2020, unknown suspects attended the Batchawana Post Office located on Highway 563 in Herrick Township.  

The suspects gained entry to the post office by burning the lock off of the side door.  

Once inside the building, the suspects attempted to burn the hinges off of the vault causing extensive damage. 

The suspects also stole numerous items prior to leaving the post office.

Look at the list of items below that were taken during the incident:

  • An HP printer with paper and labels
  • Numerous stamps for cancelling or redirecting mail
  • A P-Touch label machine
  • Numerous unusable gift cards
  • Numerous packaged parcels which included a parka, assorted makeup, king size comforter, two boxes of wine from the LCBO
  • A dog bed
  • A Koobo with attached light
  • A portable DVD player
