VIDEO: $5K taken from victim's bank account after wallet stolen

Wallet containing bank and credit cards was reported stolen last month

Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District Crime Stoppers, along with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, is requesting assistance after a large sum of money was taken from a theft victim's bank account.

According to a news release issued today, a wallet containing bank and credit cards was reported missing on Aug. 26. Those missing cards were then used to withdraw $5,000 from the victim’s bank account.

Anyone with information that can identify the suspect in this case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 705-942-7867 or 1-800-222-8477, online or through the P3 app.
