Northern Lights Festival Boreal hosted the very first Sault Ste. Marie Meltdown Competition at Loplops. Six local acts were competing for a paid performance spot at this year's Northern Lights Festival Boreal in Sudbury. When the performances were done and the judges deliberated, singer-songwriter MD Dunn was named the winner.
