VIDEO: A random act of kindness for a Fort McMurray evacuee

Today's Random Act of Kindness is for a young family who was forced to flee Fort McMurray during the raging wildfires. Katrina and her family returned to her hometown of Sault Ste. Marie to stay with family, until they can return to their lives in Alberta. SooToday's Jasmyn Rowley surprised Katrina, her fiancé, and their young daughter at Bellevue Park to present them with gifts to provide comfort during this difficult time.
As the wildfires raged through Fort McMurray, former Sault resident, Katrina, quickly gathered what she could, and fled the city with her young family. As Katrina made her way across the country back to her hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, her friends and family reached out to SooToday's Random Act of Kindness program to see if our community could rally around her and her daughter during this stressful time. As always, our community did not disappoint and quickly jumped into action to help show this family that they are cared for, and supported, here in the Sault. Thank you to the many anonymous sponsors who stepped forward to help deliver comfort to Katrina, her fiancé and their daughter.
