VIDEO: Sheehan caught up in Trudeau frenzy at Science North

Thousands of Sudburians gathered at the grounds of Science North for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's community BBQ on Aug. 22.

Trudeau wrapped up his cabinet retreat Monday evening and a massive Sudbury crowd flocked for a chance to get up close with the PM. Our pals at Sudbury.com caught the action as it went down.

Sault MP Terry Sheehan was also there, and had the following to say in a news release this morning:

*************************
SUDBURY – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his federal Cabinet have been meeting in Sudbury to plan and prepare for Parliament’s fall session.

Last night they wrapped up their trip to Northern Ontario with a community BBQ hosted by the Prime Minister and Northern Ontario Members of Parliament, including Member of Parliament for Sault Ste. Marie, Terry Sheehan, at Science North.

“It’s great that they chose to meet in Northern Ontario,” said Terry Sheehan, Member of Parliament for Sault Ste. Marie.

“Northern Ontario takes up about ninety percent of all of Ontario’s landmass with only about 8 percent of its overall population. That presents a number of challenges which aren’t always easy to wrap your head around. Coming to the region and seeing it for themselves is critical for the Prime Minister and his Cabinet Ministers to make informed decisions and helps them to better understand the things we, as Members of Parliament and communities, are lobbying them for.”
