The draft ball has long been a popular Northern Ontario beer tradition, but it's once again creating buzz with a resurgence here in Sault Ste. Marie.

The draft ball has been a Northern Ontario favourite for decades. When production of the draft ball ceased in Sault Ste. Marie almost 10 years ago, beer enthusiasts lost a popular party staple. But, thanks to the recent opening of the Northern Superior Brewing Company, which has two machines capable of creating the original draft ball prototype; as well as Union Jack Brewing Company, which recently released its own version of the popular portable beer ball, the draft ball is making a comeback in the area.
