Here's another way to stay active while helping out the United Way

The annual seven-day Pedals for Possibilities event will start on Sept. 28

Looking for another reason to get out of the house and stay active?

The United Way of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District is announcing the return of its annual community and district-wide event, Pedals for Possibilities.

The event will raise awareness of the programs funded by the support of donations, and funds to reduce poverty in the community. It will also encourage community members to keep active during these times of uncertainty.

From Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, participants will have the opportunity to get outside and cycle around the city while raising money to support the United Way of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District.

Participants can raise funds through pledges from friends, family, businesses, etc.

There will be prizes available for each category, one of the prizes being a Fitbit.

“The United Way has had a change of events this year like others due to COVID-19. We hope that community members will reach out and support us and our member agencies in helping us move people from poverty to possibility,” said Alex Breathat, Special Event Coordinator at United Way Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District.

Participants can ride anytime, anywhere in Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District.

Registration for Pedals for Possibilities will be from Sept. 7 to 25 and is $30.

Registration fees can be raised by having family members and loved ones pledge you.

Registration can be done through social media, by phone (705-256-7476 ext. 213) or by email.
