U.S. Coast Guard sets up no wake zone for boat show

SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. - The Coast Guard Captain of the Port (COTP) Sault Ste. Marie, established a temporary no wake zone in Marquette Bay of the Les Cheneaux Islands, Mich., to protect the safety of life and property during the Les Cheneaux Antique Wooden Boat Show on Aug. 10, 2019 from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  

The temporary no wake zone is established by special local regulation 33 CFR 100.922 which states that while in the regulated area, all vessels will operate at a no wake speed and follow the directions of the on-scene Patrol Commander. The regulated area in which the no wake zone will be enforced is in Marquette Bay near Hessel, Mich., depicted in the graphic above.
