Smoke from a planned, controlled agricultural burn flowed across the Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan sky Friday evening, May 22, 2020, with more such burns expected over the weekend. Reader supplied photo

As ominously impressive as it looked, smoke blowing over the Sault Sainte. Marie, Michigan sky Friday evening, seen in a reader-submitted photo, did not stem from a residential, commercial or industrial fire.

The official told us many similar fires are planned for this weekend.
