SAULT STE MARIE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

SAULT STE MARIE, MICH. - August welcomes Sidewalk Sales and Family Fun Festival, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 2-3! This longstanding tradition in Sault Ste. Marie, dating back 50 plus years, is a free outdoor community event featuring shopping, vendors, and entertainment for all ages.

Event activities will span Ashmun Street between the blocks of Peck and Maple from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday. Please note, portions of Ashmun from Peck and Maple blocks will remain closed until 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 beginning at 7 a.m. Friday Aug. 2.

The Downtown Development Authority has partnered with varying organizations and community partners to bring fun along Ashmun Street featuring: local musicians performing on the Crooked Music Sound Stage; dance performances from Allure Dance Company students; kids games with United Way of the EUP; kids balloon drop at Cup of the Day; teen graffiti art contest at Bayliss Public Library; outdoor movie night with the Sault E-Free Church and a water sprinkler zone compliments, of the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department.

Returning highlights to the Sidewalk Sales and Family Fun Festival weekend include: Central Savings Bank FREE pancake breakfast, Friends of Bayliss Public Library Summer Book Sale and the Twin Soo Cruisers Auto Show in its new location on Water Street Saturday, Aug. 3.
