Three Sault Michigan bars have been identified by the Chippewa County Health Department (CCHD) as potential COVID-19 exposure sites over the Halloween weekend.

A news release issued today by the Health Department states that through contact tracing, the Alpha Bar, the Merch, and the Savoy have been identified.

The CCHD recommends that anyone who visited any of these locations between the hours of 8 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

Symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure.

Anyone experiencing one or more of the following symptoms should immediately quarantine and seek testing:
    •    Fever
    •    Coughing
    •    Headache
    •    Sore throat
    •    Runny nose or congestion
    •    Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
    •    Loss of taste or smell

"CCHD will continue its investigation into the spread of COVID-19 and may contact you if you are identified as a close contact to those affected by the virus," the release states. "With evidence of community spread, community mitigation strategies and restrictions are in place to slow the spread of the virus as much as possible."
