LSSU to host best-selling author Karen Dionne

SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. - Lake Superior State University is hosting bestselling author Karen Dionne from 2-6 p.m., June 15, in its Barnes & Noble campus bookstore. Dionne will meet readers and sign her latest best-selling novel, The Marsh King's Daughter, a psychological thriller set in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The Marsh King’s Daughter has appeared on numerous Best of 2017 lists and was released into paperback by Putman on April 13. It was named a 2018 Michigan Notable Book and nominated for both the International Association of Crime Writers annual Hammett Prize and Barry Award. The book is being developed into a motion picture directed by Oscar‐nominated Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game and Passengers) that will star Oscar‐winner Alicia Vikander.

Dionne is the cofounder of the online writers community Backspace, the organizer of the Salt Cay Writers Retreat, and a member of the International Thriller Writers, where she served on the board of directors. She has been honoured by the Michigan Humanities Council as a humanities scholar, and lives with her husband in Detroit’s northern suburbs.

The Marsh King's Daughter is in stock at the LSSU Barnes & Noble campus bookstore for Dionne to sign, in hardcover and paperback.
