UNITED STATES COAST GUARD, SECTOR SAULT SAINTE MARIE

What: Coast Guard Sector Sault Sainte Marie and local partners/agencies are hosting a symposium to educate the public on ice breaking operations, ice safety, winter emergency contingency plans, and winter season preparedness.

Representatives from the Coast Guard and local emergency/public safety agencies will be available to share information and answer questions regarding preparation for the winter season and winter contingency plans. 

The public will also be able to tour a Coast Guard MH-60 helicopter from Air Station Traverse City and a Coast Guard Auxiliary Sky Hawk ice observation aircraft. 

When: Dec. 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rain date: Dec. 15, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Sault Sainte Marie Municipal Airport, Sanderson Field Hangar: 2144 Meridian Street, Sault Sainte Marie
