SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. - The escort of the tank ship Algonova through the St. Marys River is delayed.

The ship will be escorted to Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. by the Coast Guard Cutter Mobile Bay on Thursday and is expected to arrive by mid afternoon. The ship will be escorted back down the river on Friday.

Every effort will be made to minimize incidental ice breaking in the harbour above the Sugar Island Ferry crossing. The Coast Guard Cutter Mobile Bay will attempt to clean up any ice that may move downriver between the Sugar Island Ferry crossing during the escort of the tanker.
