Chippewa County confirms two new cases of COVID-19

This brings the region's total confirmed cases to four

The Chippewa County Health Department, (CCHD) which covers the area of Sault Michigan, has reported two new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

This brings the area's total confirmed cases to four.

The identified individuals are adult males, ages 61 and 70.

According to the health unit, both began developing symptoms approximately one week ago before testing positive.

CCHD reported that the individuals are isolating at home.

A press release from the health unit states, "While Chippewa County is in Phase 5 of Michigan’s Reopening Plan, CCHD has been expecting additional cases as the State of Michigan continues to expand openings. Chippewa County residents should take precautions and make choices to protect themselves."

As of June 26, Chippewa County has reported three COVID-19 recoveries, two positive cases (plus the two reported this morning), one probably case, 0 deaths, and a total of 1,886 tests completed.
