The Lake Superior State University Arts Center Gallery will showcase works from its permanent collection through March.

Shown here is a bronze cast of End of the Trail, created in 1915 by James Earle Fraser and on loan from LSSU employees Douglas and Suzanne Davidson. The piece has been in the Davidson Family Collection for generations.

The exhibit also features the acrylic sculpture Transcendent by Frederick Hart as well as mixed media on Native American and American West themes by Kenneth Pauling Riley, David Johns, Dan McCaw, Harry Jackson, Maria Martinez, and Fritz Scholder.

Looking on in this Feb. 27 picture is Gallery worker Sierra Jaqua from Chatham, Mich., a senior in computer networking with a minor in art. Gallery hours are 12-4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 2-6 p.m. Thursday.

The Arts Center is on LSSU’s main campus in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. There is no charge for admission.
