SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. - A Sault Area Arts Council Auction is always a good show but this one is great! LSSU Cisler Center, Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. Frank Blissett is the auctioneer!

As usual, the auction will be preceded by a fine meal. We always stress that you don’t have to attend the dinner to attend the auction, but you’ll enjoy the food and the socializing, and it comes with perks:  a wine and cheese social and comfortable table seating throughout the auction. Dinner is $30. Reservation deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 9. E-mail: [email protected], or call Pat Claxton at 906-635-0424 or Jean Jones at 906-437-5463 to reserve.

Timing is as follows: Viewing from 4 p.m.  Buy it Now tables open and wine and cheese social begins at 5 p.m. Buffet dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the auction begins promptly at 7 p.m.

Special items at this year’s auction include three hooked rugs—a 5 foot by 16 inch underwater scene from Maureen Mousley in Florida, a hilly landscape from Kyung Hatfield in Arizona and a classic Nova Scotia scene by Joan Muckelbauer.

There are also two large oils by Kyung Hatfield; both watercolours and drawings by Ken Hatfield; a nice selection of both pottery and baskets; nautical art; blown glass by Rick Shapero; an original oil by Shena Sloboda and an exquisite spring thaw scene by Karla Sunn.

Look also for wearable art, and a wide selection of trinkets, jewelry, decorative boxes and small dishes and baskets on the buy-it-now tables.  Much more including many fine prints. Something unique and special for everyone. Come and enjoy the show!
