This is ridiculous. Yet another piece of the Sault's history down the drain.
Shoemaker saying that it's not likely that the city will pick it up.. Well, they had better!
I'm tired of my tax dollars only being spent on what THEY want. What about what WE want.
So far, none of them have accomplished anything noteworthy in the last year and a half, so someone should probably let them know if they're going to continue to be completely useless, please do it from the comfort of your own living room and not while you're holding onto my money, and making decisions for city my grandchildren still have to grow up in.
I can't wrap my head around how it wouldn't be an automatic thing for this city to agree to pick up the slack. Even for the purpose of keeping ppl employed alone, should be a given.

And why won't the city pick it up?? It's our money! So, if we were to say, "Hey, Shoemaker.. we as city taxpayers want our money going towards this.. he should have to comply no matter what his personal feelings are

My question is: Why? Why didn't ppl say anything back then when businesses started disappearing, and who do we have to thank for this..? I have my own opinion on what happened, but I'm kind of interested to see what other ppl's opinions were/are.

Agreed. Why wouldn't "the city" help the YMCA?? It's our money that would be helping them, and we're we even asked..? Nope. My question is: what's going to happen with this empty building now? I think the ppl of SSM should be calling for a non-confidence vote and get Shoemaker and the rest of em outta there. Do we really want 3-more-years of this? They've done little to nothing about affordable housing, the disaster of downtown that looks like the getto of Detroit city. I've seen enough. Time for them all to go.

Just one more activity center closing its doors... So, what's going to happen with this building? Is it going to be left to sit there and ROT like the old General? Sootoday moderators may not like the last part, however, it's a fair question... and they know it.

Hey.. great idea ! Make sure to remind people of that living in apartment buildings and co-ops too. See, some ppl like having dogs, but don't want to take care of them and their business which leaves neighbors to have to do their job for them, which in turn, makes the owners LAZY. I think their should be STIFF fines given out by the city by-law officers, NOT the Humane Society! Does everyone know that..? That it's apparently the Humane Society's responsibility to give out the fines, for such violations. While it makes a bit of sense b/c it's a dog relieving itself, it should really be a by-law office responsibility since it's the owners fault for not cleaning it up.

It's funny how u mentioned it taking 2-years to arrive.. I complained about bus shelter windows missing, was told they take a while to come in, and this was 4-yrs ago and they're still missing in the exact same shelters.

Those are the key words right there.. presented to a "new" city council.
