Woman accused of driving without a licence in Bruce Mines

BRUCE MINES - On Feb. 20, 2020, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol duties in the Town of Bruce Mines. Shortly before 10:00 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Taylor Street and a traffic stop was initiated.

A query of the driver's licence revealed the driver was suspended.

As a result of the investigation, Chelsea Laderoute, 22 years of age from Blind River, Ontario was charged with:

  • Driving while suspended contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on March 25, 2020.
