R.I.D.E. PROGRAMS
Last year, during the five-week RIDE festive season initiative that ran from Nov 29 to Jan 4, a total of 465,149 vehicles were stopped at roadside checkpoinmts in Ontario. A total of 890 12-hour licence suspensions were issued and 460 persons were charged with criminal code alcohol-related charges. 439 of the 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspensions were also issued.

During the same period, OPP investigated 42 fatal crashes in which 46 people were killed. More than 30% of these crashes were alcohol-related.

OPP advise the RIDE program will be in effect again this year. Don't drink and drive.
