….JUST A REMINDER!!
Sault Ste Marie, Ont.

Now that the seasons are slowly changing from Spring to Summer the Sault Ste Marie OPP would like to offer a few suggestions to the all terrain vehicle(ATV) operators in the area.

Most ATV's are not intended to be operated on the same roadways that our cars and trucks operate on. In Ontario, all off road vehicles must have a Off Road Vehicle licence plate and be covered by an insurance policy. The licence plate is paid for once and is valid for the life of the ATV.

All operators of ATV's, or off road vehicles must wear CSA approved helmets. These rules and regulations are covered, in Ontario, by a piece of legislation called the Off Road Vehicle Act. Like any other law in Ontario owners and operators of these recreational vehicles are subject to fines if you are found in violation of the Act.
