On Feb. 4 at approximately 8:45 p.m. the Sault OPP responded to an assault complaint in the Heyden area approximately 10 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie.

The complainant, who had left the residence, suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

Attempts by officers to locate the suspect, who is well known to officers, were unsuccessful.

A first-instance warrant will be issued for the suspect, and once obtained, a further press release may be issued.

Re: Snowmobiles and trespassing. The Ontario Provincial Police want to remind every operator of motorized snow vehicles that just because the route ahead is covered with snow you are not always free to go.

Area residents have complained of late that some operators of snow machines are showing very little regard for private property.

It would appear that some operators are ignorant of the fact that they may not cross another person's property without permission, or, more likely, they just don't care.
