Sault Ste Marie OPP are happy to report a quiet previous 24 hours of crime fighting. We don't know if everyone is just tired after their Easter long weekend or if all the various crime prevention techniques are finally working.

Let's hope it is the crime prevention techniques!


SAULT STE. MARIE DETACHMENT SET TO WELCOME
NEW COMMANDER

(Sault Ste. Marie) - Chief Superintendent Carson Fougere, North East Region Commander, Ontario Provincial Police, is pleased to announce that the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment Commander will be in place by April 15, 2002. Staff Sergeant Wes Moore has been selected to fill the vacancy left by recently retired Staff Sergeant Dick Likins.

Staff Sergeant Moore has been a police officer for 24 years having signed on with the OPP in 1978. His first posting was to Schreiber detachment and that was followed by a transfer to Longlac. Moore was promoted to the rank of corporal in 1986 and transferred to Arnprior (M) Detachm
