Woman charged with assaut GOULAIS TOWNSHIP – On September 6, 2015 at approximately10:30 p.m. officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance on Mission Road in Goulais River.

GOULAIS TOWNSHIP – On September 6, 2015 at approximately10:30 p.m. officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance on Mission Road in Goulais River.

As a result of police investigation a thirty-seven year old female was arrested and charged with one count of Assault as per section 266 of the Criminal Code. The male victim received non-life threatening injuries.  

The accused is being held in custody pending a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on September 8, 2015.

Charges laid in domestic incident

BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION – On September 5, 2015 at approximately 7:15 a.m. officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Batchewana First Nation Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the Batchewana First Nation.

The female victim did not require medical assistance.

As a result of police investigation a thirty-one year old male was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault as per section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle as per section 333.1 CC.

The accused is being held in custody pending a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on September 8, 2015.
