The Sault Ste. Marie OPP, City Police Services and S.T.O.P. officers have been out partolling the area. Officers report that things have been very quiet with the poor winter conidtions we are experiencing this year. The trails are in very poor condition and travel is not recommended on area trails at this point. Only 28 drivers have been stopped and checked in the past few days and most are obeying the rules. All riders are reminded that they must carry the registration, proof of insurance and their driver's license when out for a ride.

Due to the very mild weather extra caution must be taken before venturing out onto any ice in the area. Police are strongly recomending not traveling on ice.

Snowmobile patrols will continue by the S.T.O.P. officers, Sault Ste. Marie Police Service officers and OPP officers.
