An Ohio man was air lifted out of an isolated bush area by air ambulance after a snow machine accident left him with a broken leg.

Sault Ste Marie OPP accompanied by Goulais River and Searchmont Fire departments and Sault Search and Rescue responded to the report just after 3:00 p.m. yesterday.

The accident happened on a very isolated section of snow machine trail, halfway between Searchmont and Wawa. Preliminary investigation has indicated that the injured man was in a group on snow machines that were traveling to a remote camping area some 60 miles north of Searchmont. One of the lead snow machines suddenly stopped and the injured man crashed into the first machine.

One of the parties had to travel back to Searchmont to summons help. Members of the rescue team accompanied by paramedics were transported to the scene by snow machine.

An air ambulance was called and the rescue teams were eventually able to arrive
