HEATING FUEL THEFTS
Heyden, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating reports of the theft of fuel oil from several homes in the Heyden area.

Over the past few weeks, several resident's of Rupert Acres Trailer Park have realized that someone has been taking fuel oil from their outside storage tanks. One complainant recently returned home to discover that the thieves have emptied his tank of over 400 liters of fuel. With the price of oil climbing on a steady basis, this type of crime will become even more prevalent and more costly in the future.

Once again Sault Ste Marie OPP are advising of the benefits of a Neighbourhood Watch program no matter where you live. There doesn't have to be a formal organization existing in your area to be successful in fighting crime. Be aware of who lives near or around you and so that when you see someone who doesn't belong in the area, you can take the necessary steps to protect your property and your neighbours property.
