Three, including teen from Blind River, facing drug trafficking charges

Three teens are facing charges following the execution of a search warrant in Mississauga First Nation.

Members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police, with help from the East Algoma Crime Unit, the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), North East Canine Unit, and the North East Community Street Crime Unit were involved in the search.

In a release, police say that a residential search led to the seizure of over 18 grams of suspected crack cocaine, over 14 grams of suspected crack cocaine, over two grams of suspected crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, cell phones and over $400 in Canadian currency. The value of the drugs seized is believed to be approximately $6,000.

A 15-year-old from Blind River is facing charges of:

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs Substances Act (CDSA);
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA; and with
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Police have also arrested 18-year-old Trey Gold and 18-year-old Jeremy Bernard, both of Scarborough, Ont.

Both have been charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs Substances Act (CDSA);
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA; and with
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
