Three arrested as OPP investigate shooting in Espanola

Three people are in custody as the Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate a shooting on Thursday morning in Espanola.

Members of the Manitoulin detachment of the OPP responded to a call at approximately 10:20 a.m. of a shooting incident on Albert St. in Espanola.

When police arrived, a person on scene was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious, life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation led police to believe that the three suspects fled the scene in a vehicle on Highway 17.

The OPP enlisted the help of the Greater Sudbury Police Service, who desployed its tactical unit to help.

The GSPS tactical unit arrested three individuals traveling to Lively, Ont. that are believed to be involved in the shooting.
