Thessalon resident charged with impaired driving after vehicle ends up in ditch

A Thessalon resident faces charges after a pickup truck ends up in a ditch on Highway 129, just east of the Sault.

OPP say that on Friday shortly after 7 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 129 near McCallum Road in the Municipality of Huron Shores. 

The driver and passenger received non-life threatening injuries.

Trey Blouin, 20, has been charged with operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 16.

The driver was issued a 90-day suspension their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
