Suspects flee break and enter scene in pickup with smashed window

THESSALON - On Dec. 13 and Dec. 14, 2018, members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began receiving numerous calls of break and enters to seasonal homes in the Feltham Road, Walker Road and Scheuemann Highway within and near the Town of Thessalon.

At one of the locations on Feltham Road, a neighbour confronted two males at a seasonal home where males fled the scene in a white two door, short box, Chev 4x4 pickup with the driver's side window smashed out. Later, on this evening the vehicle was located burning in a ditch on Scheuemann Highway.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance from East Algoma Crime Unit, the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine Unit and the Forensic Identification Services Unit (FIS).

The OPP encourages local residents to secure their properties or report any suspicious activity especially throughout the holiday season when people are away.

To assist police all suspicious matters should be reported and obtain as much information as a possible. This includes physical descriptions, clothing descriptions, vehicle descriptions (licence plate), and the area where they were last seen. Note the direction that the suspects are heading.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for these incidents should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or your nearest police authority.
