Sault man faces drug, impaired driving charges following crash in Gravenhurst

GRAVENHURST – A Sault Ste. Marie man was arrested and charged with impaired driving by Bracebridge OPP. 

A news release issued today says OPP responded to a call around 5 a.m this morning regarding a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 11 North just north of Doe Lake Road in Gravenhurst. It states the vehicle left the road and crashed. Witnesses reported seeing the driver trying to walk away from the scene.  

Responding officers found the man uninjured. After an investigation, they arrested and charged Tyler Verville, 30, of Sault Ste. Marie with the following: 

  • Impaired by drug CC 320.14(1)(c)  
  • Possession of Schedule I (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking CDSA 5(2)  
  • Possession of Schedule II Substance for the purpose of trafficking CDSA 5(2)  
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance CDSA 4(1)  
  • Possession of counterfeit money CC 450(b) 
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition CC 92(2)  

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Nov. 10, 2020 to answer to his charges. 

His driver's license has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded.
